In 2019, Will Smith starred as the Genie in a new rendition of Aladdin. Although it wasn’t as critically acclaimed as expected, the movie seemed to please Disney enough to order a sequel, given that it made over $1 billion at the box office.
And Smith was about to reprise his role.
