Before the archaeologists could transport this strange round object, they had to dig the whole thing out. While this was an arduous task, the fact that they had to do some excavation helped them in identifying what it was. It’s weight, texture, size, and shape suggested that it was an egg made of hard material.
Because of the egg-like thing’s enormous size, it took the two experts a while to get it out and ready to transport back to the lab. The process of digging is already a strenuous job, but imagine if you also had to do it in the gentlest way possible? Talk about time-consuming!
