Despite the determination of the team at In-Sync to make sure that Sheila would heal fast, the odds were stacked against them as the lioness’ health didn’t seem to be improving at all. While she didn’t deteriorate, her condition stayed the same as when she was first brought in.

According to one In-Sync member who was part of the team taking care of Sheila, the lioness had very poor muscle coordination. When she tried to walk, her weak legs would slip out from under her. The team knew that it would be a long and slow road to recovery.
