The plot of the latest Little Mermaid is pretty much the same as the original however, Paloma’s confusion is justified as Halle talked about the film’s plot hinting that viewers could expect a BIG change in the film.
She said at the time that the “new version definitely changed that perspective of just her wanting to leave the ocean for a boy. It’s way bigger than that. It’s about herself, her purpose, her freedom, her life and what she wants.”
