Just earlier this month, De La Soul took part in a special performance for the 50 Years of Hip-Hop at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. The group performed their 1988 song, “Buddy” however, Trugoy was unable to join the show due to health reasons.
And just one week after the show, the rapper’s rep Tony Ferguson announced the sad news of Trugoy passing away.
He is survived by fellow group members and friends Kelvin “Posdnuos” Mercer and Vincent “DJ Maseo” Mason.
