Faria’s list of crimes include baby tra****king operation where newborn children were sold to childless couples. Reportedly, he abducted young girls and held them captive in remote Brazilian “farms” where they were forced to have sex and give birth to babies — these babies then would be sold to childless couples, mostly abroad, who paid as much as $50k
The abducted women were forced to produce babies for years before being murdered.
Faria became pretty popular in Hollywood and many celebrities turned to him for spiritual advise. His fan following included former president Bill Clinton, actress Shirley MacLaine, model Naomi Campbell, and former Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
In Nov 2010, Farai appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show during which he talked about his spiritual journey and how he helped hundreds of people.
Three years later, on Oprah’s Next Chapter Season 2, a televised show titled “John of God” was aired in which Oprah traveled to Brazil to interview Faria.
In Dec 2018, after Faria was accused of sexual abuse, rape and pedophilia by more than 600 women, Oprah’s team removed the interviews from her channel and released a statement saying that she hopes justice will be served.
