While it’s true that Damian Aspinall is a humble man with many successes in his life, he wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth. In an attempt to teach him one of the most valuable lessons in life, John Aspinall refused to help him financially. This is why Damian initially pursued a career in real estate.
When his father died, he also didn’t leave Damian any inheritance as he simply didn’t have any money in the bank. At the time, the parks were also losing £4m per annum, making them more of a liability than a gift. To solve the issue, Damian needed to produce £10m a year. He could have just followed his other family members and abandon the wildlife havens, but something inside him just had to save his beloved animals.
