During their time at Howletts Wild Animal Park, Djalta and Ima established a connection with Damian unlike any other. Their bond was so strong that they treated each other as a tight-knit family unit. This is why the expedition was so important to Damian.
As you likely know, adult gorillas can be dangerous because they are remarkably strong and ferociously territorial. Damian wasn’t sure how his two beloved primates would treat a stranger like Victoria. But first things first: that introduction would never happen if he failed to find them in the jungle.
