Mahoney was eager to see Robertson again and jumped at the opportunity when he was contacted by the two men. Their meeting in a restaurant in Dong Nai, Vietnam, was filmed by Jorgensen for the documentary. After a brief, awkward hug, the two men sat down and began speaking to each other with the help of a translator. Despite the difficulties, Mahoney was also convinced that the man was indeed his long-lost buddy.
The results of the fingerprint test and the strange reunion in Canada, however, caused Robertson’s family to have doubts about the man’s identity. They wanted to know for sure whether the stranger from Vietnam was actually their long-lost relative. To get the closure that they desperately needed, the family ordered a DNA test.
