It’s not the first time that the franchise has come under fire for making racially inappropriate comments aimed at black women. In 2018 on the Miami show, producer Young Hollywood, told Amara La Negra, “I need you to look a certain way.” He then told her after being asked to elaborate, “A little bit more Beyonce, a little less Macy Gray,” in reference to her hair.

Hollywood later said you can’t be elegant if you have an afro. People immediately called in to boycott the show.
