“We take a broad look at everything around an investigation, around an accident,” Jennifer Homendy, a member of National Transportation Safety Board said.
“We look at man, machine and the environment, and weather is just a small portion of that.”
When asked whether there was any chance for the crash to be survivable, Homendy said: “It was a pretty devastating accident scene.”

According to officials, it is still unclear whether a ‘distress call’ was made by the pilot. The case investigation is ongoing.
