While Matt was busy trying to impress Laura, she found it effortless to do the same. She was responsible for teaching Matt many things: how to use the swings, how to draw a landscape, and she was particularly fond of the memory of teaching him how to properly eat string cheese.
As a grown-up, these things may come off as trivial, but to these kids, it meant that they were making an important, lasting mark on each other’s lives.
