As Matt and Laura grew up, they started to think less and less of each other. After just a few years of separating, they stopped looking forward to the yearly Christmas cards that came in the mail. They were slowly becoming independent individuals.
At first, it seemed that Matt and Laura had forged a bond that might transcend time and beat all odds. But things didn’t pan out for the two. As they learned and matured, experienced new things, and met new people, each became little more than a fond childhood memory in the mind of the other.
