Initially, she was only facing misdemeanor charges but rejected the plea deal which was offered, causing additional charges to be made. Last month, after new evidence in the form of surveillance videos surfaced, the prosecution decided to take the case to a grand jury.
According to sources, Cardi is seen throwing an ice bucket at one of the sisters during the attack. Her attorney denies her involvement, but this new evidence may significantly affect her chances of winning the case or having the charges dropped.
