George Zimmerman Suing Trayvon Martin’s Family For $100 Million For Defamation (Details)

On February 26th, 2012, Zimmerman shot and killed Martin while he was patrolling a gated community. He reported that Martin – who was wearing a hoodie, holding a drink, and Skittles – looked suspicious. At trial, he said that he shot Martin in self-defense, but prosecutors and police argued that the attack was unjustified, Trayvon was unarmed.

Zimmerman was tried and acquitted of the homicide charges in 2013, which did not sit well with many people. He is now claiming that the police and prosecutors on the case conspired with Trayvon’s family to fabricate a story that he calls false evidence.
