While George Floyd is not the only Black man to have died in the hands of a police officer, he is the first who received justice. His murderer, Derek Chauvin, has been found guilty and convicted for George Floyd’s death.
He is currently awaiting his sentencing at the maximum security Minnesota Correctional Facility at Oak Park Heights.
