The series’ co-creator, Lee Daniels, tweeted Jussie would “NOT be returning to Empire,” following the incident that occurred back in January. Earlier this year, the actor claimed that he was “allegedly” attacked by two men wearing “MAGA” hats, and shouting homophobic slurs. Investigations revealed that the actor faked the attack and was charged with filing a false police report.
His character was written out the show before the end of the show’s 5th season, “to prevent further disruption to production.”
