The official naval force of Germany was called the Federal Navy until 1956 when they changed it to The Deutsche Marine. It falls under the country’s Federal Defense called the Bundeswehr. Despite having a rather bland, history, it is considered one of the most formidable marine forces in existence today.
With over 81 naval assets, The Deutsche marine receives a total defense budget of $45.2 billion. At last count, the German maritime force consisted of six submarines, ten frigates, five Corvettes, and 12 mine warfare vessels.
