The United Arab Emirates (UAE) lands an unsurprising spot on this list. With its Navy having a total of 2,500 soldiers on its payroll, they are a nation that no one would dare clash with, especially along its coastline. The UAE’s prosperous economy has allowed it to collect a total of over 75 naval assets. All funded by a massive $14.4 billion defense budget.
The UAE Navy owns two mine warfare vessels, two corvettes, and 12 patrol crafts. Since one of their main concerns is to build a strong coastal defense, allotting a hefty budget for this cause is only to be expected. What most people don’t know is that the UAE established another marine force – the UAR Marines – prepared with BMP-3 armored personnel carriers.
