John Quincy Adams – IQ 175
Presenting the most intelligent President in US history – John Quincy Adams! Despite having an IQ of 175, Adams had his share of scandals and stupidity. He was not as efficient as he was expected to be. According to Nate Silver’s study of US Presidential IQs, there was a statistical relationship between presidential IQ and success. This means that the country should be in good hands when led by a smarter president.
But Adams’ intellect and charm did not serve him well in the White House. Reports from presidential archives showed that he hated party politics. Adams favored naked swimming in the Potomac River over the interests of the nation. Maybe the ritual of skinny-dipping was his only means of taking a breather. What do you think?
