Regrettably, Sheila’s story isn’t the first one of its kind and it certainly won’t be the last. Animals have been poached and stolen to be used for entertainment and profit for as long as anyone can remember, and it’s disappointing how no-one seems able to entirely put an end to the barbaric practice.

The sad truth is, these animals who spend their lives generating profits for their owners often don’t even have their basic needs cared for properly. Many are also tortured and abused. Most animals end up having short, tormented lives, and Sheila’s rescuers could only hope that she wouldn’t meet the same end.
