Hand-Painted Clouds?
I know this might look like a painting, but it is 100% real, which is what makes it all the more stunning. This picture was taken by a National Geographic photographer at twilight in a desert in Namibia called Dead Vlei.
The intense amount of bright light coming from the sand dunes in the distance, as well as the early morning foreground, combine for a picturesque backdrop to this otherworldly view. The orange background you are seeing is what is called the Big Daddy, a 1,200-foot-tall sand dune.
