Rainbow Mountains
No, this was not taken from a page of a coloring book. This is Gansu, China, home of the most vibrant and colorful mountain ranges in the known history of the world. In 2012, the mountain ranges became a quasi-national geopark and have been voted by Chinese media outlets as one of the most magnificent spots in the country. The ranges span for 124 square miles.

The peculiar but superb colors formed over the course of millions and millions of years from sandstone and other mineral deposits. Time, wind, and rain, have also helped in sculpting the mountains’ shapes, colors, and designs. If you’re struggling to believe that such wonder exists, why not book a ticket to China to see for yourself just how ridiculously incredible this place is?
