Your Eyes Aren’t Fooling You: These Mind-Boggling Photos Are Real

Watercolor Palette
Although it definitely seems like it, this picture is not a zoomed-in image of a watercolor palette. It is in fact, a very real image of our planet. It was taken in Western Australia by Simon Butterworth. In order to take this abstract photograph, he had to fly at an altitude of 4,000 to 5,000 feet.

This picture is clear evidence that the land down under is just as colorful and vibrant as any other country in the world. According to the photographer, “The tracks left by the salt-harvesting machines have made the salt pans look like brush strokes from a watercolor painting.” Truly a man-made wonder.
