Despite choosing to remain neutral during the early years of the war, the United States eventually got dragged into the conflict when their naval base in Honolulu was bombed by Japanese forces. These US sailors are unable to believe the destruction in front of them.
Disbelief
The attack left over 300 airplanes and almost 20 ships destroyed or damaged. It also resulted in the deaths of civilians and soldiers alike. Despite the destruction, the US was able to recover quickly because their onshore facilities, including oil storage depots, were left intact.
