Young and Old Soldiers
World War II came at a huge cost for all the countries involved. It didn’t only result in the destruction of their land and property, but it also resulted in the deaths of millions of people. Due to a lack of manpower, some countries were forced to hold conscriptions for both the young and old.

Young Scout

Hitler specifically established an organization for the young, teaching them about Nazi ideology. One of the soldiers, a 15-year old boy, was only given training for half a day before being handed an SS uniform and directed to the frontlines. This photo shows a 15-year old boy serving in the Red Army as a scout.
