Stealing Possessions
The Nazis were clearly very thorough when it came to war. Apart from their systematic way of capturing and killing Jews and other “undesirables,” they also followed a system when it came to looting the places they successfully invaded.
Left Behind
While most of the Nazis focused on gathering cultural items, such as paintings, ceramics, and other similar pieces, some preferred to collect jewelry and gold. The tray in this image holds thousands of wedding rings that were stolen from their rightful owners.
