A Helping Hand
World War II was a battle between two opposing forces, the Allies and the Axis. Although the US wasn’t initially part of the Allies, they officially joined in 1941 after the surprise attack of the Japanese Navy Air Service against their naval base in Pearl Harbor.
The people of Japan had been brainwashed by mass propaganda campaigns. According to the propaganda they were exposed to, the Americans were violent and cruel people. This rare picture taken during World War II shows an American soldier assisting a Japanese woman and her child from their hiding spot. Actions like these confused the poor mislead citizens of Japan during the American occupation of their country post-WWII.
