Girl Power
The Women’s Royal Navy Service (WRNS) was formed in 1971 during World War I as the female branch of the Royal Navy in the UK. It disbanded in 1919 but was brought back into service in 1939 during the beginning of the second World War.
Arming The Planes
The group included cooks, electricians, clerks, weapons analysts, air mechanics, and radar plotters among others. During World War II, WRNS was also allowed to fly transport planes. It’s girl power in action as these women reinforcing a plane before it goes out on a mission.
