Bombing It
Bombings were common during World War II, the most famus of which being the Pearl Harbor attack and the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. In a joint effort between Britain and America, the two countries also carried out the infamous attack on Dresden, the capital of Saxony.

722 heavy bombers from the UK and 527 from the US dropped over 3,900 tons of explosives on the capital, destroying more than 1,600 acres of the city and killing more than 20,000 people. This photo shows a RAF pilot resting between missions.
