The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise move carried out by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. Its alleged intent was to secure a monopoly over the Pacific Ocean. The Honolulu naval base was attacked by 353 Japanese aircraft on the 7th of December 1941.

More than 2000 American were killed while over a thousand more were left wounded. It also caused the destruction of 188 US aircraft and damaged all eight battleships of the US Navy. The attack led to the United States joining the war, aligning themselves with the Allied forces.
