Time to Feed the Bears
Freezing weather can be a huge hindrance during war, but it doesn’t seem to be an obstacle at all for the Soviets soldiers of World War II. In their bid to take over Russia, the Germans found snow to be their most ferocious foe as they weren’t accustomed to dealing with the extremities of the cold weather.

Feeding Polar Bears

Taken during a military expedition in Chukchi Peninsula, this picture shows Soviet tank soldiers taking a break to feed polar bears from cans of condensed milk. The climate in the area is quite severe, often falling below 0 during winter, and the bears and their cubs can starve if they aren’t able to find prey.
