Smiling in His Final Moments
Georges Blind is a French man who joined the resistance during World War II. He operated at nighttime, colluding with paramedics and firefighters in moving members of the French resistance who were wanted by the authorities, as well as exchanging weapons and information.

Cant Destroy His Spirit

Blind was eventually captured in 1944 and taken to a concentration camp. They tried to use mock executions to make him reveal information, but he refused to speak. Blind was executed by firing squad, with a photo of him smiling at his executioners taken seconds before his death.
