A Ship Graveyard in Australia

SS Ayrfield was a boat built in the UK in the year 1911. While it was originally registered as an Australian steam collier, it was used as a Navy transport vessel by American soldiers during WWII. It was in commission until 1972, before it was retired in Homebush Bay in Sydney.

Homebush Bay is found on the scenic southern bank of the Parramatta River, a lush locale that was once a far less picturesque ship graveyard. The SS Ayrfield can be found in its new home amongst the lush greenery, where visitors can observe a piece of history from a distance.
