Kayakoy is a small town in Turkey that is located 8km south of Lycia’s province, Fethiye. According to history, the indigenous people living in the town were entirely removed by the Ottoman Empire and relocated to Greece.
The deserted town currently holds 350 empty buildings which have been completely neglected since 1914. The buildings are overgrown with moss and ivy, although there are rumors that Turkey might have plans to restore Kayakoy as a new town.
