A Lonely Train Station in Abkhazia, Georgia

An unavoidable casualty of war, this Abkhazia train station was left forsaken during the turmoil that erupted between Georgia and Russia. The conflict was centered on the Abkhazia region and who was the rightful owner. It took place from 1992 to 1993.

After the war, the conflict between the two left the train station heavily damaged. Despite the neglect and damage brought about by this conflict, the architect’s intricate designcan still be admired within the structure itself. As of now, there aren’t any plans to restore the station.
