Props to this house for being the last one standing. Believe it or not, this precariously positioned building was once part of a successful island colony in the Chesapeake Bay. As the years passed, mud started to erode along the coast of the island, eventually causing the whole thing to crumble away. Apart, of course, from this one proud abode.
For quite some time, the house stood as the last remaining fragment of the life the island once had. People could view the house from a distance, although they weren’t allowed to go anywhere near it. All good things must come to an end, though, as the saying goes. Sadly, the building succumbed to the forces of nature in 2010, collapsing into the bay and leaving only pictures like these as proof it ever existed.
