Looking like something out of a dystopian fantasy story, this abandoned power station (known as Power Plant IM) was once a cooling tower that created electricity. It was used during the 1900s but was shut down by the government, with no plans of reopening it.
Power Plant IM served as one of the biggest coal-powered plants in Belgium. Water would enter the cooling tower where it would be cooled by the wind from the base of the tower, releasing columns of hot air in the process.
