Rocking Along the River in Kiev

This rocket boat, called Sunrise, has been abandoned for years and merely serves as a reminder of the Soviet period. The hydrofoil boat was built to traverse the Kiev Sea, through the Dnieper in Kiev. At present, it remains the only high-speed, one-deck passenger ship of its kind.

During the peak of its use, the boat could travel at a speed of up to 60km per hour. Since its last official outing, the boat has sat neglected, slowly being claimed by nature.Explorers looking for an adventure can still go and visit it (though Kiev’s government officials don’t recommend it).
