The Hunt family name is not only popular in their industry, but on television too. H.L. Hunt, the family patriarch, was the inspiration for the character of J.R. Ewing on the TV series Dallas. H.L. was a businessman who struck it big in the oil industry.
H.L. built a company based on American oil and has now expanded it to include investments in other industries. His son manages the Hunt family’s oil business while his daughter went on to build her own business, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
