Thomas Frist Jr. is an American physician and businessman who also just happens to be the richest man in Tennessee. Frist and his father founded the Hospital Corporation of America in 1968. Frist senior was also a prominent specialist in internal medicine in Nashville.
The corporation was able to hit the billion-dollar mark just a few years after its commencement and they have gone on to chair major businesses such as IBM. Frist Jr. left the company in the hands of his son, Billy, but by that time, he had already grown it into one of the world’s biggest corporations.
