George Lucas is best known for the success and popularity of the film franchise, Star Wars. Star Wars was a hit back in the 70s and 80s and the films continue to be blockbusters to this day. Apart from producing films, Lucas is also at the helm of a special effects company and works behind the scenes on creative sound design.
Disney purchased LucasFilm in 2012 for a whopping $4 billion, making George Lucas and his family multi-billionaires. That’s not a bad deal, considering he only made six films under the company’s banner. Thanks to his directorial magic, he’ll likely go down in history as one of the best movie makers of all time.
