When it comes to the biggest names in media, the Murdoch dynasty belongs at the top of the list. Rupert Murdoch is credited for the successful expansion of the family business, although he was originally born in Australia and was not given American citizenship until 1985.
News Corp. started out as a print and TV news company in Australia and New Zealand. Murdoch later on expanded to Asia, UK, and America. He bought The Wall Street Journal, Harper Collins, and Fox in America. The family fortune greatly increased after Murdoch sold Fox to Disney for $70 billion.
