A New Perspective
The Christ the Redeemer statue, or Cristo Redentor in Portuguese, is one of Brazil’s most iconic monuments. Perched on top of a mountain in the city of Rio de Janeiro, this 98-foot-tall statue was constructed between 1922 and 1931 and has since become a cultural icon, attracting visitors from all over the world.
While the statue has been photographed so many times from different viewpoints, very few photographers have ever captured it from this particular angle. The image above clearly shows how massive and imposing this statue really is, towering over visitors at its base.
