The Mysterious Hole in Lake Berryessa
Famously known as the Glory Hole, this cavity formed in the Lake Berryessa reservoir in San Francisco, California is so mysterious it seems like it was built by aliens. Apparently, however, it is not a hoax nor a Photoshop trick. It is completely real: a man-made and artificial spillway that works like a drain for overflowing water. The water then flows to a creek below the Monticello Dam.
While it’s sadly not the product of aliens, it still looks pretty amazing. If you had no idea what its origins were, the more imaginative among you might speculate that it’s a portal capable of taking you to an unknown universe. Pretty freaky, don’t you think?
