California Wildfires
In October of 2017, California faced one of the most destructive fires in recorded history. The Tubbs fire was the most devastating wildfire that the state went through, with a total of 5,643 structures destroyed. Around $1.3 billion was spent to cover all the damage.
This image might show thousands of homes and buildings destroyed by the fire, but this is just a tiny part of the area affected by the calamity. It took one year to complete the investigation, and it was discovered that the cause of the fire was the failure of a private electrical system. Among all the structures demolished by the fire, half were homes in the city of Santa Rosa.
