The Baha’i House of Worship
Famously known as the Lotus Temple, the center for India’s Baha’i faith is located in New Delhi, India. This magnificent image is an aerial drone shot taken by photographer Amos Chapple, Rex. The structure is made of white marble and was built to look like a lotus flower in bloom. The architecture is beautifully surrounded by nine clear pools and lush gardens.
Iranian-American architect Fariborz Sahba is the person responsible for the wonderfully-designed temple. Understandably, it took ten years to complete the project. According to world-renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, “the temple is one of the greatest architectural achievements in history. It serves as concrete evidence that with passion and vision of spirit, anybody can make miracles.” Every year, an average of 3.5 million tourists visit the temple, which makes it one of the most visited places in the world.
