Duck Feeding Frenzy
This magnificent image was captured right above the Ba River located in Tuy Hoa City in Vietnam. Can you guess what those hundred white things are? They are thousands of glorious white ducks closing in on the farmer feeding them. In Vietnam, it has become a long-standing tradition to feed ducks.
More than 30 million ducks are raised every year in Vietnam, with the birds used both for their meat and eggs. Ducks are raised in rice fields on a seasonal basis since they aid in the growth of crops by eating insects and weeds. Their manure also makes the soil fertile, providing additional nutrients to the crops. Talk about working in sync with nature!
