A Strange Sight
This drone user captured a strange sight over the Italian Alps – a giant pink stuffed rabbit with a disfigured face and its entrails spilling out. This is certainly not what holidaymakers and skiers in Italy’s Piedmont region would expect to see in a place like this – but what is it, exactly?
The giant rabbit is actually an art installation called Hase (the German word for “hare”), set up in 2005 by Austrian art group Gelitin. It measures around 200 feet long and 20 feet high and has been designed for visitors to climb on. Though it was originally intended to last until 2025, the pink woolen rabbit had largely decayed by 2016.
