Aside from these interesting artifacts, it is also pretty remarkable to note that these ever-receding ice patches and glaciers allow scientists to learn of people’s patterns of activity. For instance, scientists are able to discover objects unique to specific regions of mountain ranges. This provides another great opportunity for scientists to learn the behaviors of people and animals residing in specific areas within the mountain ranges.
For example, researchers discovered mostly tools for hunting in the ice patches of Norway and North America. On the other hand, in much colder regions such as the Alps, scientists found materials used for travel as well. Items in South America, meanwhile, were specific to local rituals. It is fascinating to know how each region had unique objects they used to survive.
